photograph of the Frazer Nash Brooklands 500

An original elapsed timing stop clock circa 1920s, believed to be used by the famous timekeeper Eddie Ebblewhite. Eddie was the official Brooklands timekeeper and this clock was almost certainly used by him.

The clock was manufactured in Birmingham by Philip Harris and co. and features 2 stop functions to the timepiece, with Roman arrow pointer mounted in original casing and stop/go button to the top. It also has the correct gearing and workings together with resets visible to rear. As one would expect from such a quality and indeed important time - piece it has been modern tested for accuracy.

The clock is absolutely original and came from a private collection of Brookland memorabilia. To the base is a B.A.R.C plaque, which is of course commensurate with Brooklands and even comes attached with genuine 9x 6 inch black and white photograph of the Frazer Nash Brooklands 500; dated 21.9.1935.The photograph details Mitchel Thompson and Connell (vale) with EBBY THE TIMEKEEPER AND McONNELL ON THE START LINE. To the rear is the photographer Wj Brunll’s copyright.

This is a very important piece of Brooklands memorabilia, almost impossible to find and rarely presented to the open market. A fantastic artefact and quality investment for the discerning collector.
